Tips for fostering a love of reading in your children

Getting children to love reading can be challenging. Here are some tips to help you foster a love of reading in your child.

  • Start early: Babies may not understand the words, but they will love the sound of your voice, and it helps them develop their language skills
  • Make reading a part of your routine
  • Let your child choose their books
  • Create a reading-friendly environment: Create a cosy reading corner in your home, filled with books, pillows, and blankets
  • Make reading fun: Encourage your child to act out the story or make funny voices for the characters
  • Being a reading role model

At Shaping Little Minds, we understand the importance of reading and strive to foster a love of reading in every child who attends. From reading stories to singing nursery rhymes, we create a language-rich environment that promotes a love of reading in young children.
